Following two months of patience after high-profile summer moves totaling €135 million, young forwards Matias Fernandez-Pardo, Mika Godts, and Malick Fofana must accelerate their adaptation at their respective clubs, DHnet reported. The trio commanded significant fees—€60 pour Fernandez-Pardo at Newcastle United, €45 pour Godts at Paris Saint-Germain, and €30 pour Fofana at Sunderland—yet all three are still searching for consistent scoring impact as the European season accelerates.

Newcastle United and Régis Le Bris back Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Malick Fofana

At Newcastle, Matias Fernandez-Pardo has struggled to unlock his scoring touch, drawing scrutiny over decision-making in the final third. However, his management remains supportive. Matias applique les principes sur le terrain et se crée des occasions. Il lui manque simplement le but pour retrouver sa confiance, noted his manager, who expressed firm belief that the forward will soon harvest the rewards of his movement on the wing or through the center of the Magpies’ attack.

Across the North East at Sunderland, Malick Fofana is also adapting to the demands of English football after his €30 pour transfer. Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris recently assessed the teenager’s progress following the international break. Fofana recently logged a full 90-minute appearance in the UEFA Europa League, gaining vital experience.

Paris Saint-Germain injuries open the door for Mika Godts

While Fernandez-Pardo and Fofana have found consistent minutes, Mika Godts has spent the opening months of his Paris Saint-Germain career largely in the background behind established stars like Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. That dynamic shifted following a severe injury double-blow for PSG during a fixture against FC Barcelona. Medical scans confirmed a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in the right knee for Kvaratskhelia alongside a left thigh injury for Dembélé.

Godts, who arrived from Ajax with the club emphasizing a long-term developmental plan under manager Luis Enrique, now faces an immediate test. Having remained an unused substitute across PSG’s previous three outings prior to the injuries, the young Belgian winger has no remaining excuses to delay his impact. He must demonstrate that he can follow the developmental trajectory of teammates Bradley Barcola and Désiré Doué, both of whom required an initial period of acclimatization before breaking through as key contributors in the French capital.
