Teguise will host the upcoming Spanish Under-15 Badminton Championship from November 27 to 29, bringing nearly a hundred young players from across the country to the Canary Islands, according to local sports reports. The competition takes place at the Pabellón Municipal de Teguise, marking the island’s return as a central hub for national youth badminton.

Pabellón Municipal de Teguise Prepares for National Talents

With exactly one month remaining until the opening matches, competitors across Spain are actively vying for points to improve their positions on the national ranking list. Entry rules restrict the singles tournament to a maximum of 48 players in both the male and female divisions. As an essential prerequisite, participants must rank among the top seventy players on the national leaderboard to secure a spot in the singles draw. Meanwhile, the doubles competition sets a stricter ceiling, accommodating no more than 20 pairs.

Auria Badminton Club Coordinates Tournament with Official Support

Auria Badminton Club leads the organization of the tournament in collaboration with the Spanish Badminton Federation and the Canary Islands Badminton Federation. Public institutions and private entities provide financial and logistical backing, including the Government of Canarias, the Cabildo Insular de Lanzarote and La Graciosa through the Island Sports Service, the Ayuntamiento de Teguise via its sports department, Turismo Lanzarote, the Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote, CICAR, and The Smart Web Studio. Organizers have emphasized maintaining the high standard of participant experience established during previous national events held on the island.
