AS Monaco has placed a €30 million asking price on 20-year-old forward Paris Brunner amid strong transfer interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool, according to reports by journalist Ekrem Konur cited by TOP Mercato.
The Principality club values Brunner at double his current Transfermarkt market valuation of €15 million. That figure represents a massive upward trajectory for a player whose valuation sat at just €1.50 million in June. Monaco acquired the forward from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2024 for a reported €4 million fee, subsequently loaning him out to Belgian side Cercle Bruges before integrating him into the squad for the current campaign.
Paris Saint-Germain is tracking Brunner among a shortlist of five Ligue 1 talents as potential reinforcement. The reigning European champions face an urgent roster need following a severe knee injury sustained by Georgian left-winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia during a UEFA Champions League fixture against FC Barcelona. While speculation links PSG to a possible winter approach in January 2027, Monaco intends to retain the forward through the end of the 2026-2027 season to aid their domestic campaign and maximize their eventual return on a summer sale.

Any potential agreement involving PSG or Liverpool must account for Borussia Dortmund’s position in the transfer chain. According to reports, the German club inserted a matching-rights clause into the 2024 sale agreement. This provision mandates that if Monaco accepts an official bid from a suitor like PSG, Dortmund must be immediately informed and retains the option to match the offer and reclaim the player, provided Brunner agrees to the move.
Brunner’s on-field impact includes four goals in Ligue 1 appearances and a double in a victory against Olympique de Marseille in late August. He has scored seven goals in eight matches across all competitions, including his seventh strike of the 2026-2027 campaign during Monaco’s UEFA Conference League opening fixture away against CSKA Sofia in a 1-2 victory. However, his momentum was temporarily checked by a two-match domestic suspension resulting from a goal celebration during a match against Strasbourg in September, which caused him to miss Monaco’s Ligue 1 fixture against Lorient in a 1-0 defeat. Speaking to club media ahead of a UEFA Conference League fixture against Freiburg at the Stade Louis-II, Brunner addressed his integration and development. Mes coéquipiers m’aident beaucoup !
Des joueurs comme Eric Dier ou Denis Zakaria me conseillent chaque jour à l’entraînement,
Brunner said, while also noting that he has learned from his disciplinary sanction to better control his emotions on the pitch. J’ai appris de cette situation, et dans le futur je vais mieux contrôler mes émotions,
he added. Pour nous, et je pense que le coach sera d’accord avec moi, le plus important est de gagner match après match et, bien sûr, de montrer un beau visage.
Before his professional breakthrough, Brunner earned global recognition through his performances with Germany’s youth selections, winning gold medals at the Under-17 World Cup and European Championships, alongside claiming the Golden Ball award as the best player at the World Cup. He is also a German under-21 international.
Uncertainty remains over whether Paris Saint-Germain or Liverpool will formalize their interest with an official €30 million bid when the transfer window opens, or if Borussia Dortmund will exercise its matching option should Monaco engage with suitors. Additionally, potential international recognition from Germany manager Jürgen Klopp could further accelerate the young forward’s market valuation before the end of the season.
