Wow: “Ridiculously good” Liverpool ace to be given “escape route” in January to join Mo Salah

Some Liverpool players are struggling to fully convince Andoni Iraola so far this season, and one such figure is now being linked with a move away in January.

The Reds have made a positive start to life under Iraola, even though there is plenty to still work to do, with Trey Nyoni a revelation in midfield, speaking positively despite Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal:

“Obviously I was excited. I just tried to go out there and do what I do, tried to get on the ball as much as possible and bring the team forwards. Obviously I’m happy but we still wanted to win, so there’s also that – which is the most important thing.

“The manager is just trying me in different positions and allowing me to develop. In a game like this it was a big responsibility so I had to be ready at all costs.”

Nyoni played in place of Ryan Gravenberch against Arsenal, with the Dutchman producing patchy form so far this season, and not justifying a place in the starting lineup.

According to a respected source on X, the Dutchman could now join up with Mohamed Salah at Trabzonspor in the January transfer window, being given a way out of Liverpool:

“Trabzonspor to offer Ryan Gravenberch an escape route in January. Lucrative opportunity for the player.”

Should Liverpool sell Ryan Gravenberch in January?

Gravenberch clearly hasn’t hit the heights of the 2024/25 season, when he was so integral for Liverpool as they won the Premier League, and Iraola doesn’t seem to rate him too highly.

That said, it would be a big risk selling such a talented young player so soon after he signed a new deal, with Leon Osman hailing his quality last year:

“Until Atletico scored, that half was Liverpool’s best of the season in terms of being in control. A big reason for that was Ryan Gravenberch, who has been ridiculously good so far. He’s been the best player on the pitch.”

Liverpool should stick with Gravenberch until at least the end of the season, and if he doesn’t improve, then it might be the right decision to allow him to leave.

The talent is there with the 23-year-old – he just needs to produce more consistency and substance if he is to reach his vast potential.
