Everton can make it three wins on the bounce with a win over Coventry City. Here is how David Moyes could line up his team.
Coming into gameweek 10 of the Premier League season, Everton sit seventh, but could potentially end the weekend within the top five if all things go David Moyes’ way.
After beating Newcastle at St. James’ Park, the Toffees are in fine form and should fancy another victory against Frank Lampard’s Coventry, who have struggled so far this season despite some big results.
Here is our predicted line-up…
Jordan Pickford: There is no debate over who will be starting in goal for the Toffees. Fresh off stellar performances against Newcastle, Pickford starts.
Jake O’Brien: After shining against Newcastle, O’Brien should also start this one. Moyes may want a more progressive option against Coventry, and perhaps he does that, but why change a winning formula?
James Tarkowski: Been in really impressive form, Captain Fantastic is almost certain to be starting this one. His aerial threat may be a big factor in the game.
Jarrad Branthwaite: Branthwaite was brilliant against Newcastle as he continued his impressive season, which is now touching the heights he showed 18 months ago. Becoming one of the best in the league.
Vitalii Mykolenko: Arguably, the most underrated player in the Everton squad right now is Ukrainian Mykolenko. Is almost a 7/10 every week for the Toffees and deserves all the praise he gets.
James Garner: Moving into the midfield, Everton have been so strong lately, with Garner the big reason for this. He is one of the best in the league, and another big performance here could put Everton into the European places.
Harrison Armstrong: Fighting Hayden Hackney for his spot, but Armstrong retains the place against Coventry in all likelihood. Having a strong campaign and benefitting from playing alongside a player like Garner.
Merlin Rohl: While not a natural fit, nor a huge threat in the final third, Rohl was solid against Newcastle and should keep his place here. He could easily play right-back instead, with Tyler Dibling or Hayden Hackney in place here, but Moyes shouldn’t meddle too much.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: One of the first names on Everton’s teamsheet right now, in blistering form and a guaranteed starter. Dewsbury-Hall’s ambition is success at Everton, and a win here would do wonders for European football efforts.
Tyrique George: A big threat every time he plays, and he played a key role in Everton’s win over Newcastle. Needs to improve in the final third, and Coventry is a good chance for him to get a goal.
Thierno Barry: Who else? Everton’s top goal scorer is far from perfect, but he’s doing a great job this season and is also all Moyes has right now.
