Colorado State assistant Kenny McClendon has been sleeping at the team's facility for the past two weeks as he tries to fix college football's worst defense.
Head coach Jim Mora revealed that McClendon, his new defensive coordinator, has converted a team office into a bedroom for his family.
McClendon was recently promoted to defensive coordinator after his predecessor, Tyson Summers, walked out on the team mid-game.
Colorado State is 2-4 for the season - after losing four straight games - with their defense ranked 138th out of 138 FBS teams in the nation.
Over the past four - winless - games, the Rams have given up a total of 222 points: 41 against BYU, 59 at UTSA, 56 against Oregon State and 66 at Texas State.
'Kenny hasn’t been home in two weeks,' Mora said this week. 'We took Jordan (Frost-Dixon)'s office, our linebacker coach, and turned it into a bedroom for Kenny. So he just sleeps there.'
On Wednesday, McClendon revealed: 'I'm lucky. My wife is sitting there... helping me draw every single card, she's sitting there going through every little thing to make sure we're supported.
'My daughters are sitting there, they're sleeping in here... I’m not in this by myself.'
Across six games this season, the Rams have given up 3,182 yards and 34 touchdowns at an average of 8.14 yards per play.
Earlier this month, Summers left the team after being replaced midway through the Rams' 56-26 loss to Oregon State.
Summers was removed from his playcalling duties in the first half, with McClendon taking over the headset. Summers then left the sidelines.
After the game, Mora confirmed that Summers had departed the program immediately, with McClendon taking over full-time.
'That is a permanent move that was made following tonight's game,' Mora said.
Mora confirmed he had removed Summers from playcalling duties but insisted he never told him to leave the sidelines, saying doing that 'wasn't anything that I would ever consider.'
