Young Indian shuttlers Dev Ruparelia and Tanvi Patri are all set to represent the nation in the badminton competition at the upcoming Youth Olympic Games 2026 in Dakar, Senegal. The prestigious event is scheduled to take place from November 1 to 5, with the broader Games running from October 31 to November 13.

Dev Ruparelia, seeded second in the men's singles, has been placed in Group H. He will face tough competition from Shaurya Gullaiya of Canada, Petr Briza of the Czech Republic, and local favorite Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Diagne from Senegal. On the women's side, third-seeded Tanvi Patri finds herself in Group F, where she will compete against Smrithi Adepu from Australia, Sara Patricia Delgado Gonzalez of Mexico, and Jang Yu Jeong from Korea.

Both the men's and women's singles events will feature 32 players each, starting with a group stage before advancing to the knockouts. Players are divided into eight groups of four, with only the group winner progressing to the quarter-finals. The ultimate goal for these young athletes is to secure a medal, with the gold and bronze medal matches slated for November 5.

Beyond badminton, India will also be represented in boxing. Haryana's Gunjan will compete in the women's 48kg category, while L. Ambekar Meitei from Manipur will vie for honors in the men's 50kg category. Both boxers earned their spots by securing silver medals in their respective qualifying championships, highlighting India's diverse talent pool heading to Dakar.
