Fenerbahçe enters Friday night’s Trendyol Süper Lig fixture under new leadership, hosting Göztepe at Chobani Stadium with a 19.00 start time. The club parted ways with manager İsmail Kartal following a league defeat in the derby against Galatasaray, leaving the squad nine points behind the league leaders and turning to Dirk Kuyt to steer the team.

Chobani Stadium Scene and Match Details

Referee Oğuzhan Çakır will blow the opening whistle at 19.00 in Istanbul, assisted on the sidelines by Kerem Ersoy and Mehmet Kısal. Broadcaster beIN Sports 1 holds the live rights for the match. Süper Lig action also features Erzurumspor FK against Çorum FK at 13.30 and Kocaelispor against Rizespor at 16.00 on the same day.

Squad Absences and Disciplinary Suspensions

Fenerbahçe faces Göztepe without three contributors due to injuries and disciplinary bans. Marco Asensio and Nathan Ake remain sidelined with ongoing physical complaints, while Archie Brown serves a three-match suspension handed down by the Turkish Football Federation’s Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) following an on-field altercation.

On the opposing side, Göztepe arrives in Kadıköy with a lighter injury list. The club, which has accumulated 12 points from the first nine matches of the campaign with three wins, three draws, and three losses, misses only Furkan Bayır and Ogün Bayrak. Rhaldney and Juan Silva are available if selected after recovering from minor knocks picked up against Çorum FK, while Allan Godoi was kept out of the squad to avoid aggravating a groin issue.

Göztepe has earned points in three of the last four meetings between the clubs over the past two seasons. During the 2024-25 campaign, Göztepe drew 2-2 at the Gürsel Aksel Stadium before falling 3-2 in the return fixture at Kadıköy. Last season, both home and away encounters ended in stalemates, including a scoreless draw in Istanbul and a 1-1 result in İzmir.
