The 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners are being announced now on ESPN.
Established in 1957, the Gold Glove Award honors the best defensive player at each position in each league. The voting process is made up of MLB managers and coaches (75%) and the sabermetrics community (25%). Managers and coaches vote only within their own league and cannot vote for players on their own teams.
Each league has three finalists at each position, including the utility spot, which was awarded for the first time in 2022.
Here's a rundown of all of the 2026 recipients as they are announced:
First base: Christian Walker, Astros
Walker, a three-time winner with the D-backs from 2022-24, gets his fourth Gold Glove -- his first with the Astros -- after tying for the AL lead in Fielding Run Value with 7. Walker is the Astros' third winner at first base after Yuli Gurriel (2021) and Jeff Bagwell (1994).
Second base: Cole Young, Mariners
Young earned his first Gold Glove in his second big league season after leading all American League second basemen with 16 Defensive Runs Saved. He's the Mariners' first winner at second base since Bret Boone won three in a row from 2002-04 -- a streak that began before Young was born.
Shortstop: Taylor Walls, Rays
Walls, who led all shortstops with 21 Defensive Runs Saved, is the first Rays shortstop to win a Gold Glove, and it's been some time since the club had a winner at any position -- the most recent was Kevin Kiermaier as a center fielder in 2019.
Third base: Caleb Durbin, Red Sox
First-time winner Durbin, who led all AL third basemen with 13 DRS after the Red Sox acquired him in the days before Spring Training started, is only the second third baseman in club history to win a Gold Glove. The other was Frank Malone, who won three from 1957-59.
