PSG: 17-Year-Old Titi David Boly Makes History with First Pro Goal in Champions League Rout

Paris Saint-Germain teenager David Boly accelerated his rise through the club’s ranks on Tuesday night, scoring his first professional goal during a 6-0 Champions League rout of Villarreal at the Cerámica stadium. The 17-year-old right-back capped off the victory in Spain just minutes after coming off the bench, entering a match that was already firmly in the visitors’ control.

The 78th-Minute Strike at the Cerámica Stadium

The decisive sequence arrived four minutes after Boly replaced evening captain Achraf Hakimi in the 74th minute. Following a midfield recovery by Ferran Torres, João Neves slipped a vertical pass through the Villarreal defense. Boly latched onto the ball, drove into the penalty area, and fired a shot that took a slight deflection off Renato Veiga before beating goalkeeper Peter Gulasci to find the back of the net.

The moment arrived amid a chaotic substitution window. Refereeing instructions caused a brief delay after officials judged the exit of three outgoing Paris players to be too slow. That delay forced Boly and teammate Lucas Beraldo to wait a minute before entering, while Quentin Ndjantou received a yellow card after rushing onto the pitch.

Despite the administrative hiccup, Boly made an immediate impact for Luis Enrique’s side.

Climbing the Paris Saint-Germain Record Books

L’Équipe reported that the strike made Boly the second-youngest player in Paris Saint-Germain history to score in a European competition at 17 years and 285 days old. The club record remains held by teammate Warren Zaïre-Emery, who scored against Dortmund in 2023 at 17 years and 280 days old.

The milestone comes immediately on the heels of another career first. On the preceding Friday, Boly logged his first minutes in Ligue 1 during a 5-1 victory against Le Havre. Until this week, the academy product had spent his European matchdays primarily competing in the Youth League.

Reflecting on his rapid promotion, Boly expressed his gratitude to the staff. Tout ça, c’est le fruit de mon travail depuis tant d’années, depuis tout petit, he told PSG TV. Je remercie tout le monde, à commencer par le coach qui m’a fait confiance, et tout le staff qui m’aide depuis le début.

Paris Saint-Germain Tables Professional Deal for Boly

L’Équipe reported that while Boly’s current youth aspirant contract runs until the summer of 2027, Paris Saint-Germain has already tabled a proposal for his first professional deal featuring a high financial offer. The club is eager to secure the defender long-term amid interest from other European suitors.

His growing exposure on the continental stage could influence negotiations over his future role in the squad. With Achraf Hakimi established as the starting right-back, performances like his outing in Spain intensify discussions regarding whether Boly can carve out a permanent rotational role in the French capital or if external competition will shape his career path.

Boly Expresses Desire to Continue Career at Formative Club

The French club has also indicated it no longer wishes to offer oversized contracts, even as the 17-year-old remains uncontracted as a professional despite high financial proposals. Boly has expressed a desire to continue his career at his formative club, keeping the general trend leaning toward an eventual signature.
