A former Nebraska defensive coordinator was fired from the same position at Florida State on Sunday afternoon. Tony White was dismissed from his position after two years on the job in Tallahassee.

White spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons at Nebraska before departing for FSU. The Seminoles are 3-5 this season and coming off a 36-24 loss to Clemson on Saturday night.

FSU went 8-12 during White's tenure and his defense was a big reason for the team's struggles. The Seminole defense ranks 127th in total defense and 105th in scoring defense so far this season.

Prior to his arrival at Nebraska, White coached at Syracuse, Arizona State, San Diego State, New Mexico, and UCLA.
