Real Madrid's star striker, Kylian Mbappe, has etched his name in UEFA Champions League history by becoming the second-fastest player to reach 100 goal contributions. This significant milestone was achieved during Wednesday's thrilling match against AEK Athens.

Mbappe scored a crucial goal in the 78th minute, bringing his total UCL contributions to 74 goals and 26 assists. He accomplished this feat in just 102 matches, narrowly trailing behind Argentine legend Lionel Messi, who reached the century mark in 101 games. Messi previously played for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in European football before moving to Inter Miami in Major League Soccer.

While Mbappe rapidly climbs the ranks, Cristiano Ronaldo still holds the all-time record for most goal contributions in the Champions League, with an astonishing 182 (140 goals and 42 assists).

The match itself was a nail-biter. AEK Athens took an early lead through Aboubakary Koita in the 12th minute. Real Madrid responded with a goal from Jude Bellingham in the 32nd minute, after an earlier effort was disallowed. As the game neared its end, Koita assisted Stavro Pilo to put Athens ahead again in the 75th minute. However, Mbappe's equalizer in the 78th minute, followed by Federico Valverde's stunning late winner, secured a dramatic 3-2 victory for Real Madrid.
