Charles Oliveira is not the only lightweight who could provide some entertainment to close out 2026.

The final UFC event of this year will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on December 12, headlined by the latest BMF title fight.

Oliveira beat Max Holloway in March to claim the symbolic belt, and he will now put it on the line against former two-time featherweight title challenger Diego Lopes in the UFC 335 main event.

They won’t be the only lightweights doing battle later this year, as two other notable names from the 155-pound division have been booked for the event.

Do you think Charles Oliveira will become the first fighter to submit Diego Lopes?🤔

Oliveira holds the record for the most submission wins in UFC history with 17.

Chris Padilla vs Chase Hooper added to the UFC 335 undercard on December 12

A number of fights have already been announced for the undercard of Oliveira vs Lopes at UFC 335.

That includes Alex Pereira’s return against Sergei Pavlovich, as ‘Poatan’ looks to record his first win at heavyweight in the promotion. Another former champion will be in action when flyweight legend Brandon Moreno faces Charles Johnson.

Before those big names compete, Chris Padilla will attempt to extend his unbeaten run in the UFC to seven straight fights.

‘Taco’ has become a fan favorite ever since debuting in 2024 following lightweight championship success under the Up Next Fighting banner.

Padilla has enjoyed a perfect start to his Octagon career aside from a draw against MarQuel Mederos this past April. The 31-year-old has already returned to winning ways, having submitted Nasrat Haqparast in August.

To continue his charge at UFC 335, Padilla will need to add Chase Hooper’s name to his record’s win column.

‘The Dream’ is also coming off a submission victory. He used a rear-naked choke to beat Mitch Ramirez in one round at UFC Oklahoma City in July.

That result saw Hooper bounce back from two straight losses at 155 pounds, a division he has gone 6-2 in since moving up from featherweight.

Padilla vs Hooper was first reported by Connected MMA.

Padilla is four years older than Hooper and accumulated a decade of experience on the regional scene, winning multiple titles.

He has already made a splash in the UFC and will be hoping to secure a big-name opponent by remaining undefeated in the organization on December 12.
