Week 9 of the College Football season is here, as Mizzou takes on Arkansas in Fayetteville for the latest edition of the Battle Line Rivalry. Florida vs Georgia in Atlanta is another key game on the SEC slate, plus much more on this Halloween Saturday. Let’s make some picks (odds presented by FanDuel Sportsbook).
No. 23 Missouri Tigers (-9.5) at Arkansas Razorbacks (6:45 p.m. CST on SEC Network)
Sammy Stava: Mizzou simply needs to win this one and take care of business. They’re the better team. Tigers might get off to a slow start on the road, but take control later in the game. 35-17, MIZ.
Matthew Gustafson: The Tigers will be rested and looking to bounce back after getting trounced by Ole Miss. Arkansas isn’t the nuclear meltdown it looked like earlier in the year, but it’s also not like everything is hunky dory right now in Fayetteville. Mizzou extends its Battle Line win streak to five games with a 35-24 victory.

Jaden Lewis:
No. 22 Arizona Wildcats at No. 13 Texas Tech Red Raiders (-3.5) (11:00 a.m. CST on ESPN)
Sammy Stava: Coming off their first loss of the season against Cincinnati, Texas Tech is in a good bounce back spot at home in a game they can’t afford to lose for their playoff hopes. 34-30, Red Raiders.
Matthew Gustafson: Arizona is rolling into Lubbock with a high-flying offense and three straight blowout wins over conference opponents. But the Red Raiders have home field advantage and will be playing with their backs to the wall after a rough loss to Cincinnati. Give me Texas Tech in a shootout, 42-35.

Jaden Lewis:
No. 17 Florida Gators vs No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs (-11.5) in Atlanta (2:30 p.m. CST on ABC)
Sammy Stava: Coming off the loss to Auburn, Georgia has the advantage of playing this game in Atlanta against an inconsistent Florida team. Motivated Dawgs take care of business in this one. 37-21, UGA.
Matthew Gustafson: Just when it looked like the wheels were about to fall of the Florida hype train, Jon Sumrall rallied his team for an upset win in Austin. Now they’ve got some momentum and a week of rest heading into the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party (I don’t care about whatever corporate name they’re calling it right now). Now, will any of that matter? No. The Dawgs are going to be out for blood after a shocking loss to Auburn, and they’ll have the advantage of playing this one in Atlanta. Georgia gets back on track with a 35-21 win.

Jaden Lewis:
South Carolina Gamecocks at Oklahoma Sooners (-4.5) (3:15 p.m. CST on SEC Network)
Sammy Stava: This should be a toss-up between two average teams at best. The Gamecocks have been too up-and-down to be trusted on the road. Brent Venables and the Sooners desperately need this one. 24-20, OU.
Matthew Gustafson: I’ve got to give Shane Beamer some credit; somehow, some way, he’s always able to do just enough to keep his job when that seat starts to get toasty. The Gamecocks’ wins over Tennessee and Florida will go a long way to keep him in the other Columbia for at least another season, though dropping a matchup to the Sooners would wipe away some of that goodwill. But I think South Carolina will ride its wave of momentum to a third straight win, taking down a middling Oklahoma squad 31-24.

Jaden Lewis:
No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes (-6.5) at USC Trojans (6:30 p.m. CST on NBC)
Sammy Stava: USC has the potential to make this interesting at home, but Ohio State has enough elite talent to win on the road — even without Julian Sayin. Buckeyes find a way to get it done as Jeremiah Smith has a big night. 28-24, tOSU.
Matthew Gustafson: I’ll trust Lincoln Riley and the Trojans to win a primetime matchup against an elite Big Ten opponent when I actually see it, no matter who is starting at quarterback for Ohio State. Ryan Day and Arthur Smith should be able to figure out a combination of running plays and throws in the general vicinity of Jeremiah Smith that gets them over the finish line in LA. I’ll take the Buckeyes, 24-14.
