UK Athlete Lucy Campbell Wins Event 1 at 2026 Rogue Invitational
Lucy

Defending Champion Laura Horvath has an impressive resume when it comes to The Rogue Invitational.

As well as being the CrossFit Games champion in 2023 and the World Fitness Project champion in 2025, she has won the Rogue Invitational three times, in ‘22, ‘23, and ‘24. She has won 13 events to date so far, however River Dee would prove to be a tricky start for her.

Event 1 – River Dee

7 Rounds:

11 Calorie Ski

7 Wall Walk

11 Calorie Ski

7 Devil’s Press (50/35)

The Devil’s Press reps had to be completed with special Rogue Thompson Fatbells.

Heat 1

Meha, Tall, Muir on home turf, and Rolfe all started out fast. Meha worked systematically and precisely through her reps. The leaders were relatively unchanged across the first half of the event.

In the pack, there were many veterans of the Invitational. Dani Speegle, for example, was back for her sixth time.

There were also two decorated masters athletes. Canadian Emily Rolfe was competing aged 37, she has been to The Rogue Invitational five times.

Another Masters athlete, Carolyne Prevost, Aged 36, won The CrossFit Games this year in her Masters Category. Outside of Crossfit she holds 11 national titles across four different sports.

Meha from Albania continued to lead, again followed by Tall and Rolfe. The leader maintained extremely efficient Wall Walk technique.

Meha locked up the heat win before collapsing on the floor with a time of 19.05.42. Her post-event pain face was the perfect mirror to her composure during the work, and revealed just how much hard work had actually gone into her heat 1 victory.

Tall finished in second, followed by Rolfe, Milligan and Muir, to the cheers of her audience.

Heat 2

Campbell, Cringle, Gazan started fast, with Migala following closely on their heels. Horvath was in last position as the athletes moved onto the Devil’s Press. Kerstetter also established herself high up on the leaderboard as she demonstrated her characteristic mental toughness throughout each part of the workout.

Campbell and Migala continued to set the pace as the athletes moved through the rounds. Horvath still struggled to hold the pace and remained in last place. Traditionally being upside down has never been her favorite position on the competition floor.

Kerstetter, at only 20 years old, was easily able to keep up with the more experienced athletes. As the rounds ticked past she moved up to third, behind Migala and Campbell.

Campbell won the heat with a time of 18.50.15, Migala, Kerstetter, Lawson and reigning CrossFit Games champion Cringle rounded out the top five.

In the post event interview, she talked about how her swimming background helps her find a natural rhythm, and it showed during River Dee.
