Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes will meet in a Last Man Standing rubber match at Crown Jewel, after Rhodes made the challenge during "WWE SmackDown."

Orton first challenged Rhodes for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, failing in that bid before meeting Rhodes in a non-title grudge match at Sunday Night's Main Event and getting the equalizing win. Orton revived the punt kick after his initial loss to Rhodes, and though Rhodes looked to do the same to him in their rematch, he hesitated and thus allowed Orton to get the win.

Rhodes finally pulled the trigger and followed through on the punt kick last week, though it was not Orton at the receiving end of it, with Baron Corbin instead catching the raw end of things. That preceded their meeting in the ring during Friday's segment.

Orton was out first in the segment and said he took pleasure in knowing he had been the one to bring that out of Rhodes. But he still didn't believe he would do it again when in the ring with him again. Rhodes then came out, swiftly followed by General Manager Nick Aldis and officials.

Aldis interrupted when Rhodes finally called for a fight on the spot, offering to make the match for Crown Jewel. That's when Rhodes turned around and made the challenge for Last Man Standing, accepted by Orton with the warning that, when all is said and done, he had asked for this.
