BATON ROUGE — While LSU football rested this week, there was a little bit of a shakeup in college football.
Despite not playing and avoiding any possible chaos themselves, Lane Kiffin and Tigers experienced some movement in their ranking.
LSU has won two straight games over Mississippi State, which has since fallen out of the polls since LSU played them at home two weeks ago, and Auburn last weekend before some much-needed weekend off.
The Tigers (6-2, 3-2 SEC) return to action taking on rival Alabama (6-2, 4-2) inside Tiger Stadium Saturday, Nov. 7 (2:30 p.m. CT, ABC).
LSU didn't play this past week but it was leapfrogged by a couple of teams in the Week 10 US LBM Coaches Poll. Both Texas Tech and Wake Forest overtook the Tigers in the rankings as they now come at No. 15, dropping two spots from No. 13 last week.
Texas Tech (7-1) defeated No. 22 Arizona and Wake Forest is now 7-1 on the season.
The Tigers will have ample opportunity to climb their way up the rankings in November, starting with the home date against No. 9 Alabama this weekend. The Alabama matchup is the first of three ranked opponents for LSU with No. 11 Texas (6-2, 3-2) and a trip to No. 16 Tennessee (6-2, 3-2) coming the following two weekends.
