KURT WARNER has apologised after mistakenly calling Jaylen Warren “Tyler” during the Steelers’ win over the Saints.
The Super Bowl XXXIV champion was analysing the game for the NFL Network alongside Dave Pasch and Jason Kelce.
But he was guilty of some awkward mix-ups after getting Warren’s name wrong on three occasions.
He confused the Steelers running back with Indianapolis Colts tight End Tyler, including two times on one play.
The former St Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals star addressed his mistake after the game, which was a 16-1- win for the Steelers.
He claimed he had analysed Tyler Warren during a recent Colts game and it had stuck in his mind.
The post read: “Yes, I called JAYLEN Warren ‘Tyler’ today after calling Colts game & referencing him in today’s game.
“My bad, so sorry… it’s stinks as an announcer when you do that & unfortunately it won’t be my last time bc sometimes u just react & misspeak! I own it…
“And JAYLEN was awesome today, so hopefully I gave him enough LOVE at other times!!”
Warner did catch himself a couple of times but it didn’t stop fans from points out the errors on social media.
One replied to his post on X, saying: “Why did it take 3+ times before someone corrected you?”
Warner responded: “Yeah, WHY? 2x were actually in 1 play and I caught myself at the end and tried to correct myself, but damage is done! Shooting for perfection but always miss!”
Another fan added: “I’m happy you at least acknowledged your mistake and owned up to it. very humble of you.”
But one claimed he had “not done his homework” for the game.
Warner didn’t appreciate that comment as he replied: “In what regard?? Did u listen to game?? I was obviously prepared.
“If you listened to all the specific notes I stated … simply covered “Tyler” 2 weeks ago and referenced him in this game, comparing Germie to him (prepared), and so the name stuck in my brain for those references!”
Warner is a Pro Football Hall of Famer, a two-time NFL MVP and two-time First Team All Pro.
The legendary quarterback went undrafted in the 1994 NFL Draft before joining the Packers.
He also starred for the Iowa Barnstormers before his memorable spell with the Rams that brought that Super Bowl trophy in 2000.
