The Red Devils are in for yet more hell.
With two members of the so-called ‘Red Cartel’ in action this Sunday, and each playing against an upstart team from the South Coast live and in living colour, the Premier League may need some counselling for its marriage with Sky Sports – and its primary off-field dramatis personae, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville – come the evening.
That’s especially going to be the case if Manchester United are as bad as they were in Como on Wednesday. Paddy’s pals @FootyAccums certainly don’t think much of their chances under Michael Carrick this weekend, and we’re not in much of a position to argue, given that their stonking 35/1 acca landed last weekend!
They are looking to land an even bigger payout this time around, and present five fabulous picks for your perusal…
Crystal Palace v Newcastle – The Draw
Hull v Brentford – Brentford to win
Liverpool v Brighton – Liverpool/Brighton Double Chance
Man United v Bournemouth – Bournemouth to win
Sunderland vs Leeds – Leeds to win

Besiktas is never an easy place to go, but Crystal Palace can take a lot of positives from their 2-2 draw in Istanbul. It was a step in the right direction after a 5-0 drubbing at Brighton in last Sunday’s M23 derby, though they are still winless in three games overall.
As for Newcastle United, the Magpies are only a single point ahead of the Eagles, with a similar league record. The away side have won just two of their last six league games, and they head into this weekend following two straight defeats, against Aston Villa and Coventry City.
Both of these teams look bound to concede given their respective defensive records. Crystal Palace have not kept a clean sheet in five games, while Newcastle have gone four without a shutout. In addition, the two sides also have an evenly split head-to-head record across the last five, with two wins apiece and a draw.

Hull City began their return to the Premier League with two wins from their first two league games with victories against Manchester United and Coventry City. But the Tigers have picked up only three points from their previous five league matches and remain winless in six across all competitions.
The Tigers were beaten last weekend against Fulham, and they have been poor defensively, having conceded first in four of their last five matches.
Keith Andrews currently has his Brentford side sitting pretty in sixth place, and the Bees only suffered their first league defeat of the season last weekend, when they were beaten at home by Liverpool. To add context, Brentford were reduced to ten men for the majority of the game following the dismissal of Yehor Yarmoliuk, and then fell to nine men during injury time, when Vitaly Janelt received his marching orders.
That aside, Brentford can take positivity from their display last weekend, knowing it was their first competitive loss this season. Indeed, Brentford have only suffered two defeats in their last 11 Premier League matches, and having retained the services of Igor Thiago, they remain fruitful in attack, netting 13 goals in seven league games so far this season.

After an unconvincing start to 2026/27, Liverpool have started to hit some consistent form under Andoni Iraola. Since the 3-0 home defeat to Manchester City, the Reds have followed that up with three consecutive wins in all competitions. Most recently, they overcame Villarreal 4-3 at Anfield, and while an early 2-0 deficit did nothing to silence the alarm bells over their unstable defence, few Reds will care if they can just bang in four, five or six in reply.
There was arguably more to that loss against the Citizens than the scoreline, with the dismissal of Ryan Gravenberch undoubtedly playing a big role in the lopsided result. It remains Liverpool’s only league defeat this term, and they have also won in each of their last four Anfield meetings against the Seagulls, with the most recent of those being a 3-0 FA Cup romp back in February – the second in a row to see them beat a -1 handicap.
Yet, Brighton have been improving every season under Fabian Hurzeler. The Seagulls have lost only one of their seven league games this season, and are also the top scorers in the division ahead of the weekend, with 23 goals. The away side are unbeaten in their last eight matches in all competitions too, with five straight clean sheets.
We’re pretty sure there won’t be a sixth, but they seem incapable of doing wrong, and so a Seagulls win with both teams to score is probably the second-likeliest result from this one.

Michael Carrick is under extreme pressure heading into this game against Bournemouth, knowing a win is needed to alleviate any doubts surrounding the manager.
Manchester United have won just two of their 11 competitive matches this term – and the wins they have posted were richly expected ones, over Ipswich Town and Sabah FK. The 4-1 loss to Como made it seven without a win for Michael Carrick’s men, with that run accounting for much of their disappointing pre-round placing of 13th in the Premier League.
Enter AFC Bournemouth, who recorded the most significant win in the entire history of their club on Thursday, as the Cherries beat the great AC Milan 3-0 at the Vitality Stadium. That win against the Rossoneri extended Bournemouth’s winning streak to three matches in all competitions, as well as making it three straight clean sheets for the Cherries.
Bournemouth have enjoyed their recent trips to Old Trafford too, going unbeaten in three visits while scoring 11 goals and beating the -2 handicap on two occasions. On top of that, Manchester United have not beaten Bournemouth since a 1-0 away win under Erik ten Hag in 2023.

Sunderland were held to a draw midweek against Lech Poznan in the Europa League, meaning that they have won just one of their last five games overall. As many people expected, Regis Le Bris’ men are finding it harder to fight on two fronts in their sophomore season of this current Premier League stay, having not won a league fixture since the end of August and suffering four straight defeats on domestic soil.
This run of form has left Sunderland bottom of the Premier League after seven games, with just four points in total. Regis Le Bris has seen his side score only 0.9 goals per league game this season, while conceding exactly two per 90.
Leeds United can take advantage of any fatigue the Black Cats may be enduring from their midweek adventure. Daniel Farke’s side have only suffered one defeat in the league – a well-fought 2-1 squeaker in the backyard of champions Arsenal – thanks in large part to a solid defence that has shipped just six goals across seven PL games to date.
Crystal Palace v Newcastle – The Draw
Hull v Brentford – Brentford to win
Liverpool v Brighton – Liverpool/Brighton Double Chance
Man United v Bournemouth – Bournemouth to win
Sunderland vs Leeds – Leeds to win
