Melina says she is not going back to the ring because she no longer has the hunger to wrestle, and she does not want to disappoint fans.
Melina says she is not going back to the ring.
Asked during a TikTok Q&A whether she would return, the three-time WWE Women’s Champion and two-time Divas Champion said she no longer has the hunger to compete.
“So I’m not going back to the ring. Everyone keeps asking me this and I say no, no. I love to watch, I love to … just be around it. Now, I think those days is just different. I don’t have the hunger and you need the hunger,” Melina said. “You need that because you see it. So, when you watch your favorite wrestlers wrestling, if they don’t, they have that hunger. That’s what makes it even better to watch.”
“So, I don’t have that. So, I disappoint you guys and I don’t wanna do that. I like talking,” she added.
Melina debuted in WWE in 2005 as the manager of MNM, alongside John Morrison and Joey Mercury, before becoming a singles star. WWE released her in August 2011. Her last WWE appearance was in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble.
She told WrestlingNews.co’s The Velvet Ropes last year that she was launching a live stage show, “Unwritten,” sharing stories from her career.
