Uganda Premier League 2026/27:
Kitara Football Club returned to domestic football after the CAF Confederation Cup expedition with a narrow 1-0 win on the road away to UPDF at the Hamz stadium (Nakivubo War Memorial grounds) on Saturday, 31st October 2026.
Defender Benjamin Nyakoojo scored the all-important goal in the early kick off of the double header where URA defeated Vipers 1-0 at the same venue under floodlights.
Nyakoojo headed the goal in the 13th minute for Kitara’s third victory of the 2026/27 season.
Unfortunately, the same defender got injured in the opening stanza and his slot was taken by Henry Muyomba Musisi.
Kitara defended gallantly for the rest of the game but were unlucky to lose forward Jimmy Kalema who reportedly suffered a fractured arm.
The Royals secured the third victory of the season which elevated them to 10th position with 11 points off 5 matches played.
Consequently, UPDF suffered the fourth defeat in 8 matches which leaves them with 8 points in the 12th place on the 18-team log.
