Tottenham remain determined to sign Vangelis Pavlidis in the upcoming winter transfer window, with the striker’s remarkable return of 15 goals already this season making him their top priority.
Tottenham Hotspur finally managed to climb out of the Premier League bottom three after spending several weeks there during a winless six-game run.
Spurs’ recent 3-1 victory over Coventry City lifted them up to 16th place, despite coming into the encounter rock bottom.
It was a strong performance from the Lilywhites, who showed character and quality throughout the game to secure the win over Frank Lampard’s side.
Spurs have long struggled in front of goal this season, scoring just three times in their opening six matches. While their latest display against Coventry showed signs of improvement, the club continue to be linked with centre-forwards.
Spurs Web previously reported that Vangelis Pavlidis is Tottenham’s priority signing for the winter transfer window. Should the striker sign for Spurs, he would surely improve the Lilywhites’ fortune in front of goal.
Pavlidis has been in scintillating form this season, netting 15 goals and providing four assists in just 15 appearances.

According to A Bola, as relayed by Sports Witness, Tottenham are described as “desperate” to land him and have made the striker their top target for the upcoming window – echoing similar reports emerging from England.
Pavlidis, however, would not come cheap, with the Greece international having an £84 million (€100 million) release clause.
Benfica are also keen to keep him in Portugal beyond the winter and have begun talks over a new contract, though they do not plan to increase his release clause.
His current deal runs until 2029, putting Benfica in a strong position heading into negotiations.
However, the situation could become complicated for the Portuguese side, as Pavlidis is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League.
If Pavlidis were to sign, he would provide direct competition for Dominic Solanke, currently Tottenham’s only recognised striker on paper – though Marmoush is also capable of leading the line.
Spurs’ depth in that area remains a concern, particularly after freezing out Richarlison following several failed transfer attempts in the summer.
Richarlison was the club’s top scorer last season with 11 goals, and replacing that level of output with Pavlidis’ 15 goals already this campaign would represent a strong piece of business.
